This week’s #Smarthack is brought to you by VP of Technology, Jeff Metter.
Managing all of your tracking scripts then adding them to your website over time can be difficult. That’s why we recommend using google tag manager so that all of your tracking scripts are in one, easy to manage location. Setting up tag manager is easy. First, you create an account and a container. Then, you add each tracking script as a tag. Some tags are pre-built, like Universal Analytics, which makes it easy to configure. Once all of your tags are setup, all you have to do is add the google tag manager script to your site once. Then you can continue to manage your tracking scripts through google tag manager interface without having to make any changes to your website’s code.
