Michael Carroll Named President of SmartAcre

“Michael knows the digital marketing space like few others do and is uniquely qualified to head up SmartAcre,” said Charles Metter. “Throughout his career, he has proven to be both an effective leader and a thought-leader in the constantly evolving digital marketing space. Now he’ll use those skills to accelerate SmartAcre’s continued growth.”
Over the past year, SmartAcre has more than doubled both revenue and staff resources with Carroll overseeing digital marketing services and business development.
“Our continued growth is due to our ability to understand how digital marketing impacts the entire marketing-to-sales process,” said Carroll. “We do not view individual disciplines like search, creative, and social as independent practices. To be great, you have to understand all of those components and how they impact each client’s brand and their customers’ experience.”
Carroll has been at SmartAcre since 2005, when he joined the agency as an online visibility consultant, becoming a partner in 2008. In 2003, he joined a public relations agency based in Washington D.C., gaining experience with Fortune technology companies including Northrop Grumman, Symantec, and Polycom. In 2004, he worked as an Internet marketing consultant with ThomasNet, where he managed online advertising campaigns and website solutions for industrial and B2B clients. He holds a B.A. in advertising and journalism from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
